Sentimental Hero and It's A Lance to battle for the leading role. The feature of the day now and SENTIMENTAL HERO (1) looks the one to beat following an impressive victory in the Boulder Cup 13 days ago. The step up in distance is no issue and he did jump favourite in the Perth Cup to begin the new year. Should sit close to the speed and win the Cup for the locals. STARRY HEIGHTS (4) was no match for Sentimental Hero last start when beaten 2.9L in the Boulder Cup, though he does meet him better at the weights this time. He won this race last year and if he gets some luck from a sticky barrier, he can turn the tables. I LOVE YOUR SMILE (7) got there right on the post to make it back-to-back wins at Belmont over 2200m last time out. Looking for the hat-trick now, she drops right down in the weights and she looks to have gone to a new level this campaign. Key player. RYEWOOD (11) is building nicely and is worth including as she comes through a good run in the lead-up. BE OPTIMISTIC (2) will be set to peak second-up and is not to be discounted. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sentimental Hero can bring up a local victory in the cup.
