There is likely to be a moderate tempo set here. BLACK SEA (2) is back after six months off, having ended the last campaign with a fourth over 1400m at Waverley. He will be a lot stronger this season, and the mile fresh up will suit him after having had 2 tune-up trials. On top. CRAFTY COLIN (1) is a long-time maiden, finishing fifth over 2200m at Waverley last time out. He is a hard fit, and he has five minor placings over the trip. Stick with him. SURROUND SOUND (10) ran on well for third over 1200m at New Plymouth when resuming 3 weeks ago. He will be better for the run and jumps straight up to a mile. He benefits from a 3kg claim and can take this out. OUR ACE (4) has recently changed stables and was runner-up in a Foxton trial 6 weeks ago. He meets an even field here, and would not be a shock winner. SUGGESTED PLAY: Black Sea can win this, and Our Ace is one at some each way value.
