Boyd is the likely leader at a keen tempo. Some big stables represented here with well-bred types who shown something, but BLAZE AWAY (2) might be the one they have to beat. Had impressed at the Flemington jumpouts ahead of the debut, when $8 into $4.80 and third, beaten 1.25 lengths, behind a smart one from the Maher stable. Can only be better for that experience and the extra 100m looks no issue. SIGNORETTI (6) found only one better at his last two starts of the first prep and has trialled nicely ahead of the return. Looks better drawn than Blaze Away, which could prove telling. BOYD (3) trialled well ahead of the debut in a handy Ballarat maiden and although sixth, he wasn't beaten far so it might pay to give another chance. BALMORAL CASTLE (8) is a first-starter from the Maher camp who hinted he was ready to get to the races at his latest jumpout and has come up with the plum draw. BRAVE CHARM (10) was out of place at Flemington debut but two jumpouts since have been impressive. SUGGESTED PLAY: Blaze Away to win.
