Solid tempo with The Finnster, Sonoran and Melkor the ones to roll forward. SONORAN (3) was an impressive maiden winner last time out, bolting home by 9 lengths over 1600m at this track. He is a lot stronger this season and will relish the extra 400m third up from a spell. Now that the penny has dropped, he can go right on with the job. SWEET BUT PSYCHO (6) ran on gamely when finishing fourth over 2200m at Ellerslie as the favourite 4 weeks ago. She will be hoping for a firmer surface this time, and she is among the leading chances. RAMBLIN' ROSE (5) has only one win from 14 starts and was close up when finishing third over 1600m at Te Rapa nearly 3 weeks ago. She steps straight up to 2000m and can take this out. MUSCOVADO (8) did nothing at Ellerslie last time out and has been battling lately. He is worth one more chance in an even contest like this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Muscovado at some each way value.
