Global Turf 3YO Maiden Plate 1600m
Tactical given the lack of speed. Lots of these look close to getting off the mark. REGAL GENT (2) has raced four times and keeps improving, the latest a fast finishing second when having first try over the mile. Looks overdue and will be tough to stop again. GOOD HARMONY (5) is another close to a win, finishing fourth over 1200m on debut before stepping up to 1400m and running on hard for second. Extra trip looks a plus and has upside. GOLD TOPAZ (1) showed ability last time in and even tackled stakes class. Resumed over a mile and found the line well to place and can only be fitter. Expected to run well again. HALF SCOTCH (6) has been thereabouts over 1400m the last couple, placing most recently. First try the trip and should be at top now. KAMAROOKA (7) is better than recent form suggests and gets chance to atone. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Regal Gent. |

Ballarat Volkswagen Maiden Plate 2000m
Don't Look Away and Nothin' Wong Here look to bowl along in front. Quite a good distance maiden. There was definitely nothing wrong with the debut run of NOTHIN' WONG HERE (3). Kicked off over 1765m at Geelong and kept coming to just miss. Has good upside and looks ideally suited out in journey. Worth following up. TALAVERA (10) also turned in an eye-catching debut when narrowly beaten and the stable must have had an opinion of her as she went straight into Listed grade in Adelaide, but nothing went right there from a wide gate. Back to maidens and fitter again could well bounce back. BUSH ETIQUETTE (4) was having just third starts and stepping up to 2000m for there first time and was beaten a neck. Expected to go close again. DIVINE CLEMENTINE (5) ran fourth in that same race and is another building to a win and has upside. FLAMING EYES (7) had little go right off an outside draw last time and from a low draw here might be over the odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Nothin' Wong Here. |

McGrath Ballarat Maiden Plate 1000m
Without frontrunners engaged Where's My Sock gets the chance to lead. Handy maiden with a number of these close to wins. HOT SEA (5) should give a sight. Was stakes placed on debut then put away, then returned at Moe and led before being run down. Fitter again and will take catching despite the tricky draw. PULL MY FINGER (3) is on the quick back-up after making it two placings from as many starts after finishing third at Kilmore on Friday. Although placed was beaten almost 10 lengths behind the smart Frosted In Time but rates highly here if on the back-up. PACIFIC GLAMOUR (13) was well fancied on debut in much tougher company at Moonee Valley and not a lot went right. Given another spell and returns unbeaten in two jump-outs. Expecting big improvement this campaign. REGINA DEI RE (9) was fourth fresh in the same race as Pull My Finger made debut. Fitter and one of the hopes. WHERE'S MY SOCK (10) stayed in the stalls fresh but ran a much better second last time. Quick back-up and is among the chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Hot Sea. |

Tobin Brothers Funerals 3,4 & 5-Y-O Maiden Plate 1200m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a solid tempo. Super competitive and worth watching the first starters closely for any moves. MOTORSPORTS (14) made debut here and ran on hard to just miss. Sure to be improved and despite a tricky draw looks tough to stop again. GOLDEN SPRITZ (3) also looks close to getting off the mark. Has placed 2/2 so far, the latest this trip at Mornington when stalked the lead. Nice draw and will be prominent again. COOLY (17) was a close-up fourth on debut then got home hard to place last time. Has upside and should be winding up again. MISS ELLANEOUS (13) finished last campaign in stakes class when fifth and looks well placed here fresh. Has good speed and is one of the chances. BUNDORAN (12) placed three on end before a break and bold showing expected at odds here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Motorsports. |

Manhari BM56 Handicap 1200m
Mini Angel and Zamora have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. Wide open race. SHANGHAI VENTURE (14) was a close-up third two back then tackled much tougher grade off a wide gate last time at the Valley. This far more suitable and despite a wide draw again expected to bounce back. FLUX (2) has put together a string of placings lately, finishing runner-up latest in richer company. Overdue and gets chance. MINI ANGEL (10) was a maiden winner two back then below expectations last time on top of the ground. Freshened, back to 1200m and chances enhances with sorting footing. ZAMORA (16) was a maiden winner two back then ran well below best latest. Placed this trip three back and with good early pace can give a sight. DRONE ATTACK (6) resumed from a very long break with a close-up third over this journey. Will strip much fitter for it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Shanghai Venture can bounce back. |

Hygain Winners Choice BM62 Handicap 1000m
Cosmic Vixen and Unsnoozual should set a strong gallop. LAVANDULA (5) couldn't have been more impressive fresh winning by a space here last time. Unbeaten from two tries at the trip and can only be fitter. Hard to beat again. DEMOJO (1) was also a well fancied fresh-up winner when scoring over 1000m at Mildura. M0ore weight but is a second-up winner, drawn well and can only be fitter. BUBION (12) had little luck from wide out in the Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley last time before fading out of it. Huge class drop and gets chance to atone. UNSNOOZUAL (7) was a maiden winner two back then a little disappointing latest. Drawn ideally here and well worth another try. EL SALTO (3) is a veteran galloper with a strong record but a little off best lately. Course and distance winner aided by the claim and always worth keeping safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Lavandula. |

Sportsbet Race Replays BM62 Handicap 1600m
Only a small field with Eskimo likely to find a comfortable lead. Good race with plenty of win chances but GLOBAL ECLIPSE (4) is worth following up. Resumed in same grade over the mile last time and heavily bet but could manage only third. That was proven a hot form race though and fitter again expected to go close. MAXXI BON (5) has been in good form recently, the latest placing in a similar race to this. Best figures stack up and looks a top player. SUBTLE POWER (13) is a talented former Kiwi galloper who made Australian debut for the Hayes camp when led and tired late over 1400m. Much better for it and best figures measure up. Expecting sharply improvement. ALBANIAN I AM (8) ran a big race at odds in richer company last time when tries to lead throughout and placed at Geelong. Can give a sight again. MATERAZZI (11) was safely help in tougher company at Caulfield but well placed back at this level and can bounce. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Global Eclipse. |

Hygain Winners Choice BM62 Handicap 1400m
Battaglia should spear straight to the front of the small field. Very even. MACEDONIAN MARVEL (3) tackled a richer race fresh and hit the line hard to just miss over 1200m. That was his best figure in a long while and obviously has come back well. Has won second-up and drawn for the box seat. Fitter and worth following up. WRIGLEY FIELD (12) will be heavily bet and looks the hardest to beat. Progressive type who was a fresh-up winner then beaten just a length latest. Rates highly and expected to go close. WATERSPORTS (13) is a lightly raced mare who looks well placed here fresh. Fitter for two trials and trip suits. Tricky draw to overcome but will be primed to fire. MERE MORSEL (4) tackled slightly tougher grade last time and safely held. At peak now and drawn to camp just off the leaders. BON'S BLING (14) is going better than form looks and drawn for a good run off speed. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow in on Macedonian Marvel. |
