NUM TIME COMMENT
1 05:15 Highview Accounting & Financial 2YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1000m
Tricky one to map with a large contingent of first starters but expect good early pressure. ALPHABET (1) is a filly by Farnan on debut for the Freedman yard. She's looked good at the trials, winning a recent Caulfield Heath hit out. Must respect. TITAHI BAY (12) is a filly by Spirit Of Boom on debut for the Mark Walker and Te Akau stable. She's won a jump out and Jamie Melham is booked to ride. Wary. AMPING LASS (2) is a Wootton Bassett filly on debut for the Moody & Coleman yard who has jumped out well and is in the mix. ANGELOTTI (3) has shown some ability and can return in good form.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Alphabet to win.
2 05:45 Next Payments 3YO Maiden Plate 1400m
Whateley, Warrior Within and Askmumaskdad can settle forward in a race lacking a designated leader. WHATELEY (10) ran a good race fresh off a long spell at Caulfield Heath, sticking on for second as a $2.15 favourite. Expecting he comes on plenty from that effort and out to 1400m looks ideal. Go close. QUEENSBURY (4) ran a nice race fresh at Seymour when third, beaten 1.4 lengths. Has come back in better form and is on the radar now. REGAL LOVER (5) resumes. He showed glimpses last time in with mixed form, bumping into some talented types on occasion. Expecting a strong run. TOUCHDOWN (8) is a gelding by Almanzor who debuts for the Hayes yard. He's jumped out well, watch the betting. ENCHANTED JENNI (11) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Whateley to win.
3 06:15 R&C Asphalt Maiden Plate 1300m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a genuine tempo. BALLISTIC BLUE (1) was in the market on debut at this track over 1000m and ran on well for second, beaten under a length. Quickly to 1300m but finds a winnable maiden and should be better for that hit out. Hard to hold out. ROCK GLORY (10) improved second up at Kilmore when boxing on for a solid third. Fitter again for that and drawn well. Can settle handy and give a sight. NEBUCHADNEZZAR (4) continues to race well without winning, running third in his past three outings. Stuck on well enough at Caulfield Heath last time out and this looks a touch easier. Could break through. WHIPLASH (5) is a gelding by Sweynesse on debut for the Hayes yard who must be respected.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Ballistic Blue on top.
4 06:45 Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden 1600m
Keen tempo with Tassron and Sumo Sandy prominent. Handy race. Leaning to SUMO SANDY (3) who tackles this at his third race start. He's just found one better at both starts to date, edged out here as a $1.55 favourite last start. Better for that again, he'll roll forward and can repay the faith. SAVAMOON (2) ran a strong race fresh here over 1400m, boxing on well for a narrow second. Fitter for that and will relish getting to a mile second up. Big chance. TASSRON (5) debuted over this trip at Seymour and ran well for second, beaten a neck. Like the draw for him, he'll be hard to hold out. THURMOND (6) resumes. He showed promise last time in, not far away in either run against decent opposition. Wary. TOPMOST (7) is going well with three minor placings to his name. Each-way chance again from a tricky draw.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sumo Sandy to win.
5 07:15 Browns Sawdust & Shavings BM64 Handicap 1000m
Expecting Finance Shogun to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SOJU (6) hasn't done a lot of winning in recent times but rates well here having run on nicely for second at Mornington to the handy Chinqui when last seen. That was a stronger race than this, she draws nicely here and can break through. FINANCE SHOGUN (5) led throughout on debut over this track and trip, scoring by 0.8 lengths. Obviously more depth here but it's not a huge leap to make and he's got upside. BONS TO RICHES (2) resumes. On best form he'd be very competitive, watch the betting. PANO'S PRIDE (3) hot and cold galloper who improved last start to score over 1000m at this track. Can play a role.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Soju on top.
6 07:45 Mitavite Athlete Plus BM64 Handicap 1400m
Mishare and Lady Brightside to take up the running at a genuine tempo. LADY BRIGHTSIDE (8), the sister to champion Mr Brightside, showed all of her brother's fighting qualities on debut with a tough win over this track and distance, repelling the late challengers when there to be beaten. Have to think she'll improve off that and she maps for every chance. HOT PURSUIT (12) is going well without winning in three runs this campaign, solid as favourite in a bunched finish here last time. Each-way. STORMFRONT (1) could measure up as could SUPERSET (2).  SUGGESTED PLAY: Lady Brightside to win.
7 08:15 VTR Medical Services Fillies & Mares BM64 Handicap 1200m
Grouse Mountain is the likely leader at a strong tempo. Open race. AHHA AHHA (5) was far too good here last time out to break her maiden, showing early speed and kicking right away to score by four lengths. Can land on speed from the inside draw and measure up strongly. GROUSE MOUNTAIN (8) broke through for a deserved maiden win here last time out and may be able to go on with it now. BLACKBERRY BOMB (2) was just fair fresh but this is a fair bit easier. SWEET JASMINE (3) also rates a hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Ahha Ahha.
8 08:45 Stables Plus BM70 Handicap 1600m
Small field in which Arizona Activist can find the front comfortably at a moderate tempo. TYPHOON HARMONY (2) is knocking on the door, placing in his past three. Stuck on well in the Bairnsdale Cup two back before another sound effort at Bendigo. Finds the right race now, go close. ARIZONA ACTIVIST (4) was a decisive winner at Geelong in a decent BM64 when last seen, scoring by 2.25 lengths. Maps well again and can measure up. CARNIVAL ROW (1) was too bad to be true last time at Bendigo when in the market but had been in good form prior and can bounce back. BOARDRIDER (10) was beaten 3.5 lengths into fifth when resuming last start over 1300m at Bendigo. In the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Typhoon Harmony to win.
