Not much early pressure but Tupakara, Within The Law and Artistic Venture can take up forward spots.
All the chances came through the 1400m Tea Rose a fortnight ago which was won in convincing style by APOCALYPTIC (1). Didn't have things go her way that but she easily accounted for her chief rivals here that day. Lines up for just the fourth time so there is more to come. Looks the winner. WITHIN THE LAW (4) has been handed a couple of horror draws in the latest two legs of the Princess Series, effectively ruining her chances. Missed by a whisker in the Champagne as a two-year-old so she needs the mile. Gate two today brings her right into the picture. TUPAKARA (3) was backed off the map and had all the favours but couldn't go with Apocalyptic last time. Hard to see a reversal but she is always thereabouts. ARTISTIC VENTURE (2) was the surprise packet in the Tea Rose, passing most of the field in the straight at 40/1. Looks perfectly placed out to the mile so don't rule her out. QUEEN OF CLUBS (5) is another who caught the eye two weeks ago and should be strong through the line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Apocalyptic to win again.
