An even is tempo likely with the absence of a genuine leader. MARY SHAN (5) franked some good trial form with a big win by a neck first-up in a weaker race last start over 1200m at Wanganui 5 weeks ago. She was competitive in some of the best company last season, and she can repeat the dose here. HI YO SASS BOMB (2) was a beaten favourite when resuming last start over 1400m at Otaki and finished seventh after struggling in the very holding ground that day. She was in good form at the trials before that, and will improve sharply. Follow your money. RAREZA (9) returns after a three-and-a-half-month break. She was in great form before her spell, with three consecutive wins before struggling on a heavy track in Stakes company at Tauranga in her last run before a spell. She won a recent trial very easily, and will be hard to hold out fresh up. MIDNIGHT SCANDAL (3) has a fitness edge over some in here. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mary Shan can repeat her win, and also include 2-3-9.
