Solid tempo anticipated with Blue Rata Warea taking charge. ARKSEY (2) franked his strong trial form when scoring easily on debut over 1400m at Otaki four weeks ago. He had plenty left in the tank at the finish that day and can take the next step immediately here. READY RESPONSE (3) took a short break after winning over 1400m at this track and has stayed sharp with a trial win at Foxton. He has plenty of scope and can repeat the dose. DUPUG (1) was well beaten last time out over 1650m at Waverley, but had an excuse when finding the ground that day too holding. He was a touch Otaki winner before that, and is worth another chance in this. TARZADOR (13) will be peaking third up from a spell, and if the fence is the place to be by this time of the day, then he can run into the money again. EXPLOSIVE IMPACT (16) just battled at Otaki last time out, but is better placed in this. She is ready to win again at short notice. SUGGESTED PLAY: Arksey looks to be above average, so go again.
