Genuine tempo from Just Faith leading Zeffert. TOP SHELF (1) wrapped up her last prep eight months ago with a strong second over 2000m at Te Rapa in the G2 Ellis Fillies Classic. She has had 4 tune-up trials, so she will be well screwed down with her fitness levels. Hard to beat at this level. MR MARIGOLD (4) was unplaced two starts back and then was not far away in a strong field over 1300m at Ellerslie last time out, 11 days ago. He will find this company more to his liking, and he should be a key player. BALLISTIC MISS (9) resumes from a spell after losing her way late in her last campaign. She has not had any public trials, but has Matt Cartwright back in the saddle, and can give this field a shake. Watch the market moves closely. VADANOVA (7) didn’t fire fresh from a spell, finishing sixth on a heavy track over 1300m at Te Rapa. She won her maiden here in late May and will strip fitter second up. Include in all combinations. ZEFFERT (2) won his maiden in a clockwise direction and is worth another chance in an even contest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Top Shelf should be winning this.
