Tricky one to map with a number of debutants but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. EARLICHEER (4), a well-bred three-year-old gelding by Super Seth out of the top race mare Daffodil. He is progressing well at trials, including a recent win at Ellerslie by a head. He will be ready to rumble and is sure to be well-found in the market. KUSUDA RUSH (1) debuted four-and-a-half months ago at Te Rapa, finishing a game third. He will be a lot stronger now and has been improving at the recent trials. Each way. WAVE RULER (2) was runner-up at Matamata last time out and will be peaking third up. He benefits from a kilo claim and is expected to be right in the finish again. CONFESARA (12) is making her debut from the astute James/Wellwood stable, so you know she will be ready. She has won a recent trial and is sure to have her admirers. BEABOPALUA (11) did not do much on debut despite some strong market support. Stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: liking Earlicheer on an each-way basis, but the market is the best guide.
