Expecting a strong gallop with Maria Martina and Meatlug taking up the running over Rapaura. TIKANTO (8) showed promise on debut last start over 1300m at Cambridge on the poly track, finishing fifth, and not far off the winner. The extra 100m will suit her, and from a decent gate, she is the one to beat in this. MARIA MARTINA (5) was well-backed last time when finishing second in a 5-horse field over 1400m at Matamata nearly 3 weeks ago after being ideally placed around the bend. She meets the right sort of field, and her first win is not far away. PROTHEATRICS (6) resumes from a spell as a stronger mare, having kicked off her initial campaign with a placing on debut over 1230m at Arawa Park. She has a couple of trials under her belt, and with Opie Bosson picking up the ride, she can give this a shake. RAPAURA (12) raced handy throughout when resuming from a spell and ran a solid third over 1200m at Matamata nearly 3 weeks ago. She has 2.5kg less to carry this time and should continue to improve with racing. ADIOS VAMONOS (7) won a recent Avondale trial easily. Market watch. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tikanto can take this out.
