A race that lacks early pressure on paper. TOP DRAGON (4) disappointed at the end of last campaign, though his form prior was very impressive when notching up back-to-back wins. Purton remains in the saddle with his two trials coming into this very impressive. Likely to settle back in the run, but can storm over the top to return on a winning note. MAX QUE (12) resumed in impressive fashion with a 1.5L victory at this track and trip 17 days ago. He was favourite there and now drops 6kg as he rises in weight. The inside draw can see him in a good position on settling and he's a big chance if he can run up to his fresh figures. LUCKY MY WAY (6) won two on end to finish last season and his two trials coming in to this has been solid. Lightly raced with plenty of upside and the 1400m journey first-up looks ideal. Can pick up where he left off. SHAMUS STORM (11) can storm home from the back and get into the finish.
