Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a solid tempo. The Gollan yard holds the aces. MAKING NEWS (10) brought promising form to the Sunshine Coast first up and looked a run short. She'd come off a Doomben trial win and has the blinkers applied for the first time. 25% stable-striker Maloney is engaged, and she sets a decent standard. CARDONETTE (6) debuts for Gollan and brings an easy Doomben trial win. She has an awkward gate, but Thompson rides. Stablemate BOOZIE MISS (5) debuts with a Doomben trial win under the saddle. Lang sticks from that and can use the inside barrier. She also has plenty of appeal. BRAVE MONARCH (1) debuts for the Munce yard off solid trials. Draws out, but the 2kg claim is handy. SUGGESTED PLAY: Making News with the race/form experience.
