A solid tempo is anticipated with Rocky Marciano and Lady Janice kicking up to hold out the next wave. INTOXICATED (1) ran on strongly and just missed out by a nose when resuming over 1500m at Te Rapa. He strips fitter, and more importantly, he has been placed in his only start on this track. The extra 100m will suit him, and he can go one better. ROCKY MARCIANO (4) was well supported last start and just battled home into sixth over 2000m at Cambridge on the poly track there. Has is better off over a mile on the turf this time and is worth another chance. POPSICLES (9) has been in the market in both starts to date and has battled away fairly each time. She has been looking for a firmer surface, and now that she is third up from a spell, she is ready to put her best hoof forward. CHICFLIX (7) settled back last start but powered home late to grab third over this trip at Te Aroha. She has been trying to win for some time, and if she can slot in somewhere from a wide gate, then she can figure in the top 3 again. FAST IMPACT (2) has been placed here in the past and won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Popsicles can figure in the top 3 this time.
