Good pressure from the outset with Commanding Artist, Eleven X and Ballpark taking up the running over Stealthfire and Lontrice.
AUZSTAR (9) is racing well in northern NSW and deserves his chance at the provincials. Made late inroads to be beaten a length last start in a BM82 over 1400m at Tamworth. Veteran who draws a lovely gate and is well in after the 3kg claim. COMMANDING ARTIST (5) has been freshened up since finishing third over 1850m here a month ago. Placed at two of three runs over this distance so while fresh he is a genuine hope with the help of a favourable draw. STEALTHFIRE (8) comes here third-up after a couple of satisfactory efforts to launch this prep. Lightly raced three-year-old who has improvement to come at this stage of the campaign. ELEVEN X (3) made his Australian debut in the Listed South Pacific recently and was found wanting. Gets a tongue tie today and faces a far easier assignment. Watch for sharp improvement. Last start Hawkesbury maiden winner LONTRICE (4) has only raced three times and has great scope for further progress. SUGGESTED PLAY: Auzstar can take out the last.
