Despite the wide draw Amor Victorious should cross and set a genuine tempo. TAKEN (9) consistent miler ready to win after finally coming up with a good gate. Covered plenty of ground in the run and never surrendered with a narrow second over 1600m in the LR Anniversary Vase at Caulfield. Gets the gun run and due for a change of luck. VIVY AIR (5) kept fresh for this. Huge run first-up when third in the G1 Coolmore behind Lazzura. Then went back from the sticky draw with a battling tenth in the G1 Doncaster Mile over 1600m at Randwick. Kept ticking over since with a trial win at Wyong. Well placed here and will be closing quickly. Top-three player. AMOR VICTORIOUS (3) excellent miler resuming. Came to the end of an arduous prep with a fading nine over 1600m in The Lakes at Wyong on January 10. Looks ready to go with the two solid trial runs. Will take catching. CAPTAIN FURAI (14) chasing his fourth win from his last five runs but faces a few hurdles today up to the mile from the wide gate. Place contender.
