Expecting a strong pace from the outset with plenty of speed engaged. BLACK COAL (2) is a former Victorian who has first run this area with a solid fourth here in a Class 2, beaten three lengths behind Pub Crawl who is in the first event. Will be much better for that experience and fitter again. Looks hard to beat. MODS (5) won two on end than has raced below best last two. The latest was a fifth here over 1100m and looks well placed in this so well worth another chance. SUITS (6) has won three of last five but was also well off best last time, finishing eighth after trying to lead throughout off a wide gate. Much better draw here and expected to give a better account with an easier run. BOSS SHELBY (9) continues to race well including a near miss here last time, beaten a nose. Low draw and can feature again. DAD BOD (3) is a progressive type unbeaten this time in from two starts for the new stable. Up in weight and tricky draw but hard to knock. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Black Coal.
