Good pace expected with Walkin In Memphis, Belle Rebelle and Grocer's Girl paving the way. SO FEAR (6) won her first 2 starts narrowly before finishing third in the Star Way Stakes at Ellerslie 2 weeks ago off a wide gate. She maps to settle a lot closer to the pace here, and she is the one to beat. WALKIN IN MEMPHIS (3) ran boldly in a good field on debut, and then went to Otaki to score easily by nearly 2 lengths when racing on the pace. Craig Grylls sticks with him, and so do we. BELLE REBELLE (5) got up in the last stride to score an impressive debut win, and then was runner-up as a loose favourite in the Star Way Stakes last time out. The extra 200m is ideal, and she is bred to relish the wet ground. Stick with her. INCANDESCENT (2) has been holding his form well since winning his debut at Ellerslie in late November. He is handling his busy campaign with no issue, and his fifth against a similar field last start was very good. He steps up to 1400m, and he can take this out. EXCITE (1) was fourth in the G1 Sires Produce at Trentham 5 weeks ago, so don't risk him. SUGGESTED PLAY: So Fear can win this, and add in Excite at value.
