Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Main race of the day, which has thrown some handy winners in the past. Often they've been first-starters and we get a few of them here. FOX PHIRE (10) will keep them on their toes, though, better suited here back in trip after a respectable run in a handy enough Geelong maiden, which followed a good debut. COSMIC VOYAGE (2) has had three jumpouts in preparation for the debut and hasn't won any of them, but wasn't beaten far by Cavill Avenue in the latest and that galloper was a nice winner at Ballarat on Thursday. SHINTONO (9) was an all-the-way winner of her latest jumpout and it was good to see her do it that way and she gets the inside draw and Linda Meech for the debut. Could give them something to catch. CIPHERED (1) stuck on well in latest jumpout when not knocked around, just has to overcome the ugly gate. FAMOUS ROSY (8) is hard to back off the poor debut, but he easily held Vallice (rival here) in a jumpout prior, so might pay to forgive that. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fox Phire each way.
