Moderate pace only with Platinum Goddess leading Unleash The Beast. UNLEASH THE BEAST (4) has demoralised his rivals by running them into the ground in his last couple of starts, and there will be no reason to change his tactics of making a mid-race move to lead, even with the rise in class. He drops 2.5kg, and he will be hard to peg back. PLATINUM GODDESS (5) just battled into sixth behind the top pick in the same race last start, but that was her first run in the South Island, and she was probably half a run short. She will be a lot sharper this time and looks to be the main threat to that runner here. CAPO DELL IMPERO (1) made up a lot of late ground when finishing fifth here in the G3 Canterbury Gold Cup last week over 2600m. The smaller field will suit him, and he has each-way claims. PROSERVE (2) has been battling for some time, but did run a better race at Riverton last time out. He is down to a handy weight, and a form reversal would not surprise. WORDS OF MINE (7) is capable on her day, and she is worth including in all top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Unleash The Beast can complete the hat-trick.
