Eighteen Months should lead at a keen tempo. SA visitor BUFFO (1) probably had some easier options closer to home but you get the feeling the camp have an opinion of him. Trialled twice across the border before heading to Caulfield where he was an impressively all-the-way winner of a 1000m trial. Draw is potentially sticky but looks to have the tactical speed to overcome that. EIGHTEEN MONTHS (2) was good first up then disappointed last time out in what appeared a stronger event. Peaks now and gets in well after the claim for a promising young rider. VELSHEDA (11) debuts after three jumpouts this prep and she's moved well in each. In good hands and looks to have ability. RUSSIAN SKY (9) was unplaced in three runs in the debut prep but looks to have benefited from that experience judging by a couple of Flemington jumpout placings. BRILLIANT BEAGLE (4) ran his best race in ages last start and while this is a step up, she could give a sight on-speed from the inside gate. SUGGESTED PLAY: Buffo to win.
