Fast tempo assured with Heironaut, Grand Omaha and First Tosen going toe-to-toe. NEXT JEN (3) has raced exclusively at Group and Listed level and will improve quickly off her first-up run in the Desirable Stakes over 1400m at Flemington. She has a 1.5kg claim and will be tough to beat if anywhere near her best. The race day should tell the story. GRAND OMAHA (6) resumes and has shown plenty in her brief career to date. Was last seen in a Group 3 over ground and this is a nice starting point. Won a recent 1000m trial at Caulfield Heath by 3L and should come back further improved. HEIRONAUT (1) pushed on and led at Sale on debut and was much too good over 1400m for the Maidens. He's been freshened and has jumped out twice since. Has an awkward barrier but is sure to keep improving for a top metro barn. Looks capable of taking the next step. FLORINA REGION (7) is also in good hands and third-up can show more. On her best can make the frame. SUGGESTED PLAY: Next Jen if the raceday betting indicates stable confidence.
