Moderate pace with Katsu taking up the running ahead of Dashamosa and Soul Catcher. MERCY (8) improved sharply last start when fourth, beaten just 2 lengths over 1200m at Wanganui 11 days ago, a big step up on her prior effort at Taupo near the ned of December. She has the ability, and she will be hard to hold out in this. AUTUMN QUEEN (7) showed promise on debut when third over 1400m at this track back in November. She has since had a trial hit-out, finishing fourth at Ellerslie, and she is well worth including in all combinations. KATSU (6) made an encouraging debut when second, beaten just under a length over 1200m at Waipukurau 18 days ago. She will relish the extra furlong and from the rails draw, she gets every chance to go one better. SUPER ECLIPSE (5) is a four-year-old Australian import having her first run for the Steven Ramsay & Julia Ritchie stable. She might want more ground already, but this field is not strong, and she would not be a surprise winner fresh. SOUL CATCHER (2) has needed time to mature and has trailed since his last start. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mercy is capable of winning this.
