Good pressure from the outset with Cormier, Dream Roca and Voynichese taking up the running over Tron Bolt and Martist. BERZELIUS (1) relished the step up in distance when he came with a powerful finish to score in the 1400m Sires here a fortnight ago. Looked every bit the 1600m horse on that occasion so from a decent gate he must be the one to beat. TRON BOLT (4) comes from a different angle, comfortably cleaning up a couple of races in Sydney on his way here. Savaged the line at the end of 1300m at Rosehill two weeks ago. Likely to be over bet due to the Waller/McDonald factor but his claims are undeniable. VOYNICHESE (12) was too strong for the highly touted Glenorchy over 1500m here last Saturday. The stable is loving Queensland this Winter, and this Group One is not out of reach. MARTIST (2) staked his claim for this with an eye-catching second in the Sires. Has charged through the line at both runs this prep, suggesting the mile might see the best in him. GLENORCHY (9) was heavily backed but no match for Voynichese here last weekend. Capable of a top four finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: The value is definitely Berzelius.
