Genuine pace headed by Kelvinater from his wide gate. MT SHIRATAKU (2) missed in a photo finish fresh before scoring comfortably over 1200m here last time out when a $1.50 fav. Now out to 1300m and from a wide draw, though he's shown versatility in the past and he has plenty of upside. Can continue his winning ways. MOHEGAN RULER (8) is building nicely this campaign, just missing last time out when flying late in the race 21 days ago. This looks to set up better for him albeit being back in distance and he can strike a blow third-up. RAINLINE (3) jumped fav in the Provincial Final and wasn't far away before a slightly disappointing effort last time out. Back out to 1300m should suit better and Pike reunites. Can bounce back to his best. BOSUN (18) will be better for the fresh run and maps to get plenty of favours here. He's right up in grade but has shown some talent and is not to be discounted. SPANK APPEAL (6) can return with a strong effort under this scenario. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Mt Shirataku.
