Explain should lead and control the tempo. Hard to be too confident about one that is an 11-start maiden, but BAUDIN (5) won't get a better opportunity to win a race. Not only are most of the rivals struggling to show much, but she also looks to hit this race on the up after the best result of her career last start when beaten a neck at Swan Hill. A repeat of that effort would have her awfully hard to beat here. If that is the right race, SOUL GLOW (4) has to be considered a chance, although he does have more than three lengths to make up on Baudin. PRONOUNCED (2) hasn't done a great deal to date but comes through stronger races than most rivals here and should be ready for a peak performance fourth-up. Similarly, REELZAZ (9) should be at peak fitness and is looking for this trip. EXPLAIN (6) wasn't far off Soul Glow last start, so deserves consideration for one of the minor slots. SUGGESTED PLAY: Baudin to win.
