Hoba West should lead and control the tempo. The feature of the day now where WESTERN EMPIRE (1) looks the one to beat. He was beaten in this race last year, but that was on a heavy deck and he's trending in good fashion this campaign. Should get every chance under Pike and is the class runner of this field. HOBA WEST (10) sat handy and proved tough to run past in the Hyperion, with the rise to 2000m right up his alley. Suspect he'll roll across, set the tempo and if Western Empire's suspect at the trip, he'll be there to strike. DIAMOND SCENE (3) was just fair in the Hyperion but wasn't suited with how that race was run. This trip should suit him better now and he's won 2/4 third-up.
