Without a noted leader engaged the rider tactics will be key. Tough one to close. BREAKING GROUND (4) is a new arrival to the John Nisbet stable and comes here in fine form, including a last start all-the-way win over 1540m on the Gold Coast poly. Good enough to test this field. DEVINE OUTCAST (15) returned from a four-month spell with a barnstorming win over 1200m at this track a fortnight ago, coming from next to last in a big field to just arrive. Lightly raced filly who can hold the form, particularly out to this more suitable journey. BUFF IN DISGUISE (11) did his best work late when resuming over 1300m at Goulburn last start. Nicely drawn and a solid each-way proposition. REET PETITE (1) is a promising mare resuming. Raced through her grades well at the end of last prep and if forward enough can play a significant role. BONUS TEMPUS (10) doesn't win out of turn but recent efforts in town and at the provincials read well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Breaking Ground each-way.
