Good early pace headed by Neodium, Headphones and Willybeafactor, with Texan Windstorm in their slipstream. BALLON D'OR (5) never looked likely first-up when settling a mile back over a trip short of her best but did pick up strongly in the lane to just miss the placings. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt and is much better suited over this trip. Worth noting Pannell reunites, piloting the mare to all four wins. Sure to take some stitching. EXALTED DAME (9) has found good form and there's no reason she can't run well again. FIASCO TESS (12) carries a fitness edge over the top two and has been in solid form back in Victoria. Is yet to get the job done at this distance but is among the main hopes. CULLEN SKINK (6) hit the line nicely when resuming behind Exalted Dame. Improvement to come second-up but has a wide alley to contest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Ballon D'or to win.
