Plenty of early pace from Alenia, Lease and Ithicus vying for the lead, with a few others keeping them honest. LEASE (1) is a speedy gelding back from a 12-week break for a new stable. Raced primarily at the provincials last prep and was generally competitive, the best effort a game second over 1250m at Newcastle in a Class 1. Has a shocking win strike rate but in this company he makes plenty of appeal. ITHICUS (2) led and tried hard but was ambushed late and finish seventh last time out, only 1.7 lengths from the winner, over 1200m at Warren. Very fit and will give them something to catch back in this easier race. ADELINDA (3) has been struggling for some time and will appreciate coming back to a BM50. Might be the big improver with blinkers going on for the first time. HALLOWED STAR (8) was caught in traffic at a vital stage then recovered to finish just a length adrift over 1200m at Warren recently. Cannot be taken lightly. DIVINE DI DORA (9) hasn't been far away at her last couple. Nicely in after the claim and can feature in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lease to salute first-up.
