The big field should ensure plenty of early pressure. GIMME'S LADDIE (2) was slowly into stride over 1200m last time out but stayed on well to finish fourth of 11 as the favourite. It must be noted that the winner of that race has come out and won again since. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will like the rise to 1400m and can notch up his third-career victory. MASKED VIGILANTE (10) was unlucky not to have won his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. His last victory came over this distance and he has solid each-way claims. EL REY VIENE (3) is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. Has ability and should be right in it at the finish. Include in exotic bets. PROPHET (7) last start finished ninth at Vaal over 1200m. He jumps from the inside gate and over a longer trip has place claims.
