Off the low draw Beiwacht should lead at a genuine tempo. GIGA KICK (1) grand sprinter who won this race in 2023 at his first attempt at the 1400m. All three runs this prep have been excellent, including his latest fast finishing second in the G1 TJ Smith Stakes over 1200m at this track. Can sit midfield with cover and score a well deserved victory. ANGEL CAPITAL (8) classy entire who indicated a win was imminent when he came from near last on the turn for a narrow second in the G1 William Reid over 1200m at Caulfield. Ready for the 1400m and kept up to the mark with a 900m trial placing. Will be strong late. JIMMYSSTAR (2) won this race last year off a similar set-up, but not too sure he's going as well this time. Can push forward from the wide gate and stays in the calculations. BRIASA (3) raced closer to the speed with a fading eighth in the G1 T J Smith. Fitter now and deserves another chance after finishing a narrow fourth in this race last year. BEIWACHT (14) likely leader with claims off his Golden Rose win over 1400m last September. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giga Kick is peaking at the right time.
