WOOTTON PLEASE (12) battled on fairly without threatening when fresh from a spell over 900m at Newcastle last start. Only needs to improve a little from that performance to be taking out a race like this. HELLAVALEGACY (10) led and tried hard but was claimed at the 100m pole last time out over this trip at Port Macquarie. That was a big improvement on the first-up effort so she is heading in the right direction. MR CORNSTAR (3) is back after an 18-week spell. Showed nothing in the maiden campaign but a recent Wyong trial win suggests he may have more to offer this time in work. THE MICHAEL (4) has not appeared since a modest fourth on debut at Wauchope in October. Each-way chance in a thin race. FERVI (9) placed in a recent Beaumont trial and is one to watch for a market push on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wootton Please to win the opener.
