Solid tempo assured from Hakata Bay kicking up to hold the fence as New Castle looks to cross from the wide draw. LODI DODI (13) has been inclined to do some things wrong in her races, including over-racing, but she went a much better race for third at Matamata nearly 4 weeks ago. She has been crying out for 1600m, and she has a great winning chance at some value in this field. HAKUSHU (2) has found it hard to win another race, but is heading in the right direction with his form this year, finishing runner-up by a nose here 2 weeks ago. Opie Bosson keeps the ride, and the pair can go one better in this. OCEAN RULES (14) made the most of a heavy track when letting down strongly as the favourite to score very easily at Pukekohe 17 days ago. She cops a wide gate this time, and this field has much more depth, but she has plenty of scope, and another win immediately would be no surprise. HONOR MISSION (10) is a staying mare of some potential, and while 1600m is on the short side for her, she is fresh and worth including in all combos. SUPER FLY (11) is peaking at the right time, so don't risk her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lodi Dodi each way value.
