A genuine pace is expected with She Suits Herself, Frozen Fortune and Celtic Tycoon rolling along early. LA DIEM (5) has come of age this year after showing promise through the spring in her initial campaign. She was an upset winner in a good field here 2 weeks ago over 1600m, and her breeding suggests that she will relish the extra 500m on offer here. Go again on top with her, but don't expect another fancy price. WOLF GOD (4) showed a quick turn of foot on a heavy track when getting in the last strides to score his maiden win by a short-head at Pukekohe last start. The extra 500m is ideal, and with Opie Bosson back in the saddle, he can repeat the dose. WAIMEA BAY (6) did not fire in the Waikato Guineas at Te Rapa in her penultimate start, and was back to something like her best when finishing fourth in the Wellington Guineas 4 weeks ago. She is ready now for another attempt at a middle distance, and she has sound each-way claims. FORTUNE COOKIE (10) stepped up to 1600m and was an easy maiden winner. Don't risk her in this. KING JAKKAL (1) was a game third in G3 grade last start. SUGGESTED PLAY: Waimea Bay each way in a very nice field.
