A few sit handy but there won't be a great deal of early pressure. SAN LUCIDO (1) switched from a South Australian stable and resumed a comfortable winner over 1200m this grade at Darwin. Just missed as favourite there following over 1400m and has more up the sleeve. Has a wide gate to contend with but with the extra fitness he can feature with average luck in running. ROSEBUD LASS (9) was tracking well but was plainer back 200m last time. She was a big maiden winner three back and gives every indication that 1400m will suit. She has plenty of scope for improvement. STEP FORWARD (4) is third up and went back-to-back leading and winning this grade and distance as a $2.6F. She has to skip across from the outside gate in a sizable field and that is the niggle. RISING FIRE (3) didn't have much luck last time at Darwin but just missed there prior over 1200m. Has a 2kg claim and the blinkers on again and will be finishing it off. PONTMEIRION (7) will be fitter but may need another before tenting his Victorian best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to San Lucido.
