Genuine tempo from Brumal leading Hold My Hand.
SILKEN SALUTE (1) travelled nicely then showed a good change of gears to win on debut last start over 1300m here. The extra 100m will suit so he can build on that encouraging performance and win again. BRUMAL (2) won at Ipswich when lining up for the first time, showing good speed throughout over the 1200m journey. The beaten runner on each occasion behind our two top picks was Spirit Of Torque, with the winning margins the same. At the weights there is a small edge to Brumal here - it would seem little separates the pair. PIROUETTE GIRL (9) improved out of sight at her latest run, closing well for second over 1200m at the Gold Coast. Will find this tougher but she can make further progress out to this trip at the third run back. HOLD MY HAND (5) was a bit plain in a $125k feature at Toowoomba last start. Draws favourably today and might be worth one more chance. NIALAH (8) comes here off a moderate debut at Wyong. One for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard to split the top two selections - go the way of the value runner.
