Expecting Torpedoes to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. TORPEDOES (6) was good in his debut prep without breaking through. He’s jumped out well and draws to advantage for Pannell. Expect him to prove hard to stop. JUXTAPOSE (12) has closed strongly in both runs back when well supported. She’s peaking now and her splits say she’ll relish the extra 200m. BRAND HER BOLD (9) found a smart one on debut then only warmed late at Oakbank, making solid inroads for fourth. Fitter and better suited at 1200m. LOSEYATOETOE (13) was solid in her debut prep and only missed by a lip here on Dec 27. Blinkers go on and two hitouts have her ready to fire. GOLDEN GURU (4) wasn’t far away fresh and should have come on from that but will need a smart steer from Holder out wide. FOREVER A DIAMOND (11) gave backers a bold sight fresh and just missed the bob. Fitter and worth respecting. SUGGESTED PLAY: Torpedoes to win.
