Strong tempo with Za Spirit and Eliud leading the way over Riverplate. ELIUD (6) looked to be very promising earlier in his career and was sold to Hong Kong, where things did not pan out as they should have. He is happy to be back home, and he has looked in good condition at a couple of tune-up trials. He will probably need the run, but we are not taking that risk. HOORAH HENRY (3) won 2 nice races on the bounce here before finishing fifth over 1600m on this track last time out. Dropping back to 1400m will do her no harm, and she has each-way claims again. DOLLYBIRD (9) doesn't mind a fight, and her chances improve when the tracks are at their worst. She needed her last start at Waipukurau, and will be spot on for this assignment. Each way value. BELLES FATE (7) was trapped wide throughout last time out, and has a better draw this time. Don't drop her yet. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dollybird each way, especially if it is wet.
