Stumpy and Odoranya Sonson will surge forward to challenge the nicely drawn Roi Vivienne. CHAMPAGNE LIFE (5) was in the money at Hanshin when resuming two runs back then could only manage fourth at Hanshin over 1600m four weeks ago. Best figures stack up and looks well placed to get off the mark. BEST SCENE (3) was well fancied but below his best at the last run before a break on December 14, finishing 12th over 1800m at Nakayama. Starts this prep with Junji Shimada taking charge. Yet to break through at this journey but has placed at all five tries and should be in the finish. GOLD BREATH (2) will strip fitter for this after running below expectations first-up at this track, finishing tenth and beaten 5 lengths over 1600m after being in the firing line on the corner. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. REFINADO (12) returns after a spell of three-and-a-half months. Looking to emulate her win at Kanazawa when returning from a spell last prep. Now under the care of new trainer M Kon. Sure to make her presence felt.
