A race that lacks pace so expect a muddling tempo at best. Tricky. BLUESTONE (4) caught the eye first up with a big close from an impossible spot here over 2000m then looked a bit plain second up at Sandown Hillside, sent out $2.50 and just battling. Again, he found a very slow race and is crying out for a true test. The issue is, there looks little speed on here. If they want to use him up and set the tempo, he'll go close. MR BANNOCK (9) might be the one to take up the lead and control the tempo. He won an easier race at Pakenham when last seen and will carry 51kg after the claim here. ZIBULON (10) comes back from 3200m in the Adelaide Cup last time when battling away well. He beat home Bluestone prior so must have claims. FLAMIN' ROMANS (1) was good in the Torney Cup at Pakenham last start and has the ability to beat these despite giving away a bit of weight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Bluestone.
