MAX Q (11) was well in commission when resuming last start over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt but could only manage fourth, although only 1.75 lengths from the winner. Should park just off the speed. Best form puts him right in this. TONIKEN SAMBA (16) opened this prep last start with a third, beaten 2 lengths, over 1200m at this track. Has a win and two placings at this journey from three starts. Profiles nicely. ATSUKI YAMATO (7) returns from a spell of nine weeks and is having his first run for a new yard. Finished fifth at Niigata Dirt over 1200m when first-up last time in work. Sure to make his presence felt. ANGEL LADDER (9) returned from a spell eight weeks ago when she was prominent at the corner before being beaten 12 lengths into 13th over 1200m at this track. Strips fitter and can turn things around.
