A solid tempo on the cards with Cashla Bay heading them off. COOL AZA RENE (2) has been up for a while, but she is racing as well as ever, finishing fourth as the favourite at Ashburton nearly a month ago in a stronger field. Her form has been good in deeper fields than this, and with Opie Bosson in the saddle, she is the one to beat. KIWI MAGIC (1) just battled last time out over 1600m, and he has been given plenty of time to get over that effort. He will be even better with more time on his side, but he is certainly good enough to upset this field. CASHLA BAY (5) has 3 starts earlier in the season for new trainer Terri Rae, and held her own in each of them. She resumes from a short spell that would have done her the world of good, and she can take this out. MOON GODDESS (6) had to make up too much ground last start off a sedate pace, and her best work was at the end of that race. Stick with her for all top 4 combos here. LUNA CAPELLA (4) has been close up in good fields recently, and won her first 2 ever starts on the bounce before that. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kiwi Magic each way.
