Solid pace with Universal Playboy finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. DESERT LIFE (7) sat handy last time out and couldn't land the knockout blow, finishing 1.2L off the winner on the quick turnaround. Back to 1000m today may be the query, but she flew late two back at Bunbury when favourite. Can be well positioned in the run and rates highly on her recent form. MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE (1) was just plain at the trials coming into this but he boasts a strong fresh record. Cooper's claim comes in handy and he should be prominent in the run from a good draw. This track and trip suits and he can return on a winning note. CANNYKEV (4) is hard to knock on recent form, finishing strongly over this trip at Belmont most recently. He'll carry no weight after the claim of Riordan who has a good record when riding. Can make a statement. SPICY THANG (8) scratched from a winnable race on Wednesday to run here which is a big push for her chances. No trial coming in but her form last campaign stacks up. EARTH GOD (2) won't be far away from the good draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Desert Life can get back to winning ways.
