Expecting a genuine pace with a number of these pressing forward. POPLAR PARK (2) hit the frame two starts ago at this track but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 2400m at Vaal after being in contention on the turn. Back in class and on strong record course and distance is worth another try. JORDAN (1) bounced back last start and got the job done by a neck after being prominent at the bend over 2000m at Vaal. Looks well placed so expect another big run. ONE MORE STAR (4) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 2000m at Vaal, beaten 2.5 lengths. Looks well placed so expect another big run. COPPER PLATE (8) built on a nice second two starts back at Vaal with a win over 2400m at Vaal five-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by half a length. Likely to be in the finish again.
