Good early pressure with The Entertainer or Ears Back likely to take up the running. CONTEMPLATION BAY (8) has narrowly won her last couple of starts, and she has been tough in doing so when fighting off all challengers. She is only up a kilo from her last start win at Ashburton nearly a month ago, and she has another chance to prove she can see out a mile. The hat-trick beckons. LOOSE SALLY (6) is a very progressive mare working her way through the grades, following up a hat-trick with a game fourth in a good field at Wingatui 3 weeks ago. She has won on the course, and with a drop of 4.5kg, she has to be given an each-way chance again. BETTY SPAGHETTI (7) has been beaten but not disgraced in some good fields recently, and she can secure the run of the race from the pole position here. If the gaps come at the right time, she can have the last say. Don't risk her. POUR THE WINE (3) has thrived since racing in the South Island, winning fresh up here and then trying hard for second in the Hazlett Stakes at Wingatui 6 weeks ago. Stick with her.
