Miracle Dream should have enough pace to lead a low-pressure contest. MUSASHI FUJIN (4) gets the nod in a race where the winning case is built more on reliable Kochi form than recent brilliance. He returns from two months off, but his latest fourth in 3yo+ B2 grade and the close fourth behind Burgmuller two back read well for this, and his six wins at the track and distance give him the strongest base. MIRACLE DREAM (5) is the obvious danger: beaten six and a half lengths as favourite last start, yet his earlier third behind Diamond Fuji and strong overall place record say he can rebound. HIMAWARIKUN (1) has to answer for being beaten over 20 lengths at 1600m, though the return to a proven Kochi 1400m is a clear help. RYUNOSU (7) has also been safely held lately, but three wins and four places from twelve starts at this track and distance make him a legitimate minor-money threat if he finds his better form.

A return to a winning trip offers some context, but recent form leaves him with plenty to turn around. |
