LORD BELFAST (3) sets the standard after breaking through at Kochi last start, beating Energy Ayu by a neck when well found in betting, and his two-from-two place record at the track with Eita Inoue aboard gives the profile real substance. TWISTED SILK (4) is the main danger if returning from a two-month freshening in the right order; he has won at Kochi and at 1300m, though two recent fifths as a well-backed runner leave him with a point to prove. MEISHO GOKETSU (8) is the most reliable place reference, having run second to Mozu Ganesa and third to Precious Meno at his past two, but the winless record keeps him just below the top pick. SAUVAGE (5) is harder to read: the win over O K Tomboy two back is good enough for this, yet being beaten out of sight last start means she must rebound sharply to trouble the top pair.
