Solid pace likely with La Bella Nera prominent along with Shawshank crossing from an outside gate. IRON HAWK (6) confirmed his promise that he showed last season when racing through the grades, by winning very impressively fresh up here a fortnight ago, storming home late to score by nearly a length. He cops an extra 3kg here, but should still be the one to beat. SHAWSHANK (8) has taken his form to another level on heavy ground this year, and he made it 2 wins on the bounce with another all the way win here 4 weeks ago over 1600m. He will again take some pegging back, especially if the track is wet again. DREAM OF THE MOON (11) raced well earlier in the year in the North Island, and she will appreciate racing on this circuit fresh up with all of her 3 career wins coming here. She has won a brace of trials at Ashburton to get ready for her return, and will be ready to rumble. SIR ALBERT (2) is as honest as they come when fit, and if he doesn't need the hit-out, he can figure in the top 4.
