Good pace with Zinger, Peptide Dream and Hard Worker matching motors. DANON FUNSTAR (6) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 2 lengths, over 1800m at Niigata. Outsprinted early but kept coming so the longer journey looks ideal. Looks the goods in this field. VULCAN TESORO (17) started at $3.60 last time on the back of a win at Fukushima two starts ago but was below his best, finishing fifth over 2500m at this track after being in the firing line on the bend. Nicely placed to make amends. PEPTIDE DREAM (10) showed early speed from an outside draw last time then tired over the final stages to finish 15th, beaten 12 lengths, over 1800m at this track. Will push forward and can do a lot better. MEINER QUALIA (2) resumes after a break of five months. Did win at his only other first-up run when on debut, scoring over 1800m at Fukushima. Worth plenty of thought.
